Salisbury: Athlete of the Week
April 17, 2015
Congratulations to Kaitlin Salisbury The Star-Ledger Track & Field Athlete of the Week. Junior Salisbury earned the honor through her performance last Saturday at the Passaic County Relays. Salisbury won the long jump and triple jump and helped her team earn first place in both the sprint medley and 4×200. In the come-from-behind 4×200 win, Salisbury told The Star-Ledger, “as soon as that 4×2 was over, I just kind of just collapsed on the ground. It was probably the hardest 200 I ever ran but the most satisfying feeling I’ve had this season.” Coach Gus Schell said, “Kaitlin is a talented athlete who is still figuring out the special things she’s capable of doing. Every time she conquers another challenge, it opens other avenues that make her more confident in what she can do. She is a good teammate and she works hard to get the best performance of of herself. We’re excited as she makes her mark on Hawthorne High School.”
Salisbury’s efforts helped her team earn the PCCA Division B Relay Championship title.
