Academics:

  1. Make sure to purchase supplies that are necessary for all classes promptly. Organize each by color. A good choice is to buy the same color notebook, binder, folder, etc. as the textbook.
  2. Get creative. Decorate your supplies.
  3. Always have a place to study. Find your spot. Make sure it is quiet and free of distractions.
  4. Stay up to date with assignments and projects. The sooner the better.
  5. Sign up for classes you will be interested in. Don’t follow your friends if that’s not what you like.

Social:

  1. Get involved! Play sports and join clubs. It’s a great way to make new friends and stay active. Plus, it always looks great on college applications.
  2. Become friends with all grade levels. Freshmen and seniors can get along.
  3. Form study groups and get your work done quicker. Classmates are a great source of help.
  4. Attend school events and support as many clubs, sports, and activities as possible. Show your school spirit!
  5. Be yourself and you’ll fall into the right crowd. Don’t be shy just go for it.

Relationships:

  1. Keep the friends you want around you and leave the ones you don’t. School is already stressful enough, you don’t need the extra drama and unnecessary trouble. It’s OK to lose friends.
  2. BE KIND TO EVERYONE. No matter how you feel or what happens just kill ‘em with kindness.
  3. Be respectful and friendly to your teachers.
  4. Appreciate your parents. Remember they have been through high school too.

You can survive high school. Give it your all and find your balance. Remember, we’re all in this together!
