Junior, Luke Sousa is not a stranger to big crowds. With the annual Mr. Hawthorne competiton coming around the corner, Sousa will be facing off on stage against his other competitors, all competing for the Mr. Hawthorne crown. The Clarion had the pleasure of asking Luke Sousa a few questions in anticipation of the Mr. Hawthorne competition.

Clarion Reporter: What are some of the things that you are a part of at HHS?
Luke Sousa: Football, #TrackIsLyfe and baseball.

Clarion Reporter: Why did you decide to do Mr. Hawthorne?
Luke Sousa: My father was a coal miner here back in the day and I know this is what he would’ve wanted of me.

Clarion Reporter: Do you think you will win?
Luke Sousa: Yes.

Clarion Reporter: What do you think of your competition? Who do you think is your biggest competitor?
Luke Sousa: I think that Dave Mascis is on a different level physically, spiritually and mentally. I’m also going to have to overcome my fear of Marc Crilly if I want to stand a chance.

Clarion Reporter: Tell us something about yourself, that you want the audience at Mr. Hawthorne and the Hawthorne community to know.
Luke Sousa: Mayonnaise is my favorite condiment.

We wish you the best of luck, Luke!
