Festival Latino
April 15, 2016
Friday, April 8 was Hawthorne High Schools’s annual celebration, Spanish Club’s Festival Latino. The celebration lasts all day in the Spanish rooms. The rooms are covered in decorations from the floor to the ceiling. The Spanish Club sold some of the most popular and delicious Spanish food, ranging from empanadas, chips and guacamole, and taquitos, to rice pudding and flan. Not only were there food and decorations, but music and dancing was highly encouraged throughout the day. The Spanish Club, Spanish Club advisor, Mrs. Rivas, and Spanish Honor Society students helped out a with serving food, running the events, and making sure everything ran smoothly. President of the Spanish Club Julian Parra said, “The Spanish Club and I are very happy about our success with the Festival Latino. It’s great to see all the students and faculty supporting the club, and also celebrating the Spanish heritage.”
