Renovated walls

Melanhy Navarro and Giana Innocenti

Here at Hawthorne High School the lockers and the walls in the main hallway have recently been painted blue, as well as the hand railings on the main staircase. The doors leading to each hallway have also been painted blue, too. To find out why, we interviewed HHS principal, Mr. Dan Lagrone.

Clarion: What’s the main reason why the walls were painted?

Mr. Lagrone: An educational environment means a lot and I want to formalize the environment where it’s focused on Hawthorne High School, student, and colors. Go Bears!

Clarion: Why were the walls painted now, and not let’s say, a year or two ago?

Mr. Lagrone: The opportunity arose to move forward with the painting project and provided us with an opportunity to further beautify our wonderful high school building.

Clarion: How long do you think it’s been since the walls have been painted?

Mr. Lagrone: A decade or so with the exception of the artistic murals, which are my favorite.

Clarion: Have you heard any thoughts or compliments about the painted walls?

Mr. Lagrone: We have gotten dozens of compliments, mainly from former alumni and parents at the 8th grade orientation. Go bears!
