Hawthorne High School has many sport programs, including boy’s basketball.  The HHS Boy’s basketball team has always had big crowds at their games each season, although their average win/loss record over the past five seasons is 5-16.

In fact, the most wins they have achieved over the past decade was 7 total wins.

The school’s varsity basketball team came into the season excited and ready to win.  At this point in the season, the boys had a record of 10-1 before beating Glen Rock, the only team to beat HHS this year.

After their performance against Glen Rock on January 26th, the boys clinched a win with a score of 46-41, moving their record to 11-1.  In this huge win against one of Hawthorne’s biggest rivals, Kendale Butler scored a team-high 16 points with seven rebounds. Dallas Hoffman contributed 14 points, including two 3-pointers, with two blocks. Ramon Mariano added another 13 points with four blocks and two assists.

With this win, Hawthorne is ranked No. 7 in the counties tournament.  After the game, the players and the entire school were so excited to get this win under their belts.  Keep coming out and support your Hawthorne Bears!
