Ms. Ivy Villalta has been recently added to the staff of Hawthorne High School as secretary to the vice principal, Mr. Craig Jandoli. Ms. Villalta has taken over the job from Mr. Jandoli’s past assistant Ms. Vivian Kristensen, who is now the secretary for Mr. Lagrone. Since she is a new member of our school, The Clarion decided to ask her about her first impressions and what she thinks about her new job.

Clarion Reporter: What made you decide to work here at HHS?

Ms. Villalta: I have been looking into this school district for a long time. I’ve always wanted to work for a school and I am happy that I finally had the opportunity to work here at the Hawthorne High School.

Clarion Reporter: What did you do before coming to HHS?

Ms. Villalta: Prior to working here I was the office manager in a doctor’s office and prior to that I was a paralegal for a non-profit-organization.

Clarion Reporter: Why did you decide to become a secretary?

Ms. Villalta: Having been a Paralegal in the past, it is very similar to being an administrative assistant…the only difference is the job description.

Clarion Reporter: What college did you attend?

Ms. Villalta: I attended Passaic County Community College and Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Clarion Reporter: How are you liking the school so far?

Ms. Villalta: I am enjoying it very much. Every day is a different challenge but I learn something new all the time so it makes the job interesting . Also, the staff has been so nice and very helpful.

And that concludes our interview with Ms. Ivy Villalta, we hope that she feels welcome here and spends many years with us here at HHS!
