Hawthorne High School’s Mr. Hawthorne talent show is on March 4 at 7:30 PM in the HHS auditorium. The Clarion sat down with each of the contestants to get a chance to see what they think of the show and their chances to take the Mr. Hawthorne crown. They have been working day and night practicing their killer routines and are prepared to dazzle the crowds with their charm. Wrestling champ, Gio Occhipinti, sat down with us and answered the questions we were all dying to ask.

Clarion Reporter: What are some things that you are a part of at HHS?

Gio Occhipinti: I am a lifelong member of the marching band, a three-year varsity wrestler (85 lb wight class), and the reigning spelling bee regional champion.

Clarion Reporter: Why did you decide to do Mr. Hawthorne?

Gio Occhipinti: Last year, I watched some of my friends like George, Luke, and Marc compete and I thought, “Wow, I could do better than that.”

Clarion Reporter: Do you think you will win?

Gio Occhipinti: Yes. Failure is not an option.

Clarion Reporter: What do you think of your competition? Who do you think is your biggest competitor?

Gio Occhipinti: I don’t think about my competition much, I’m mostly focused on myself. Except Mike. I’m always thinking about Mike, he’s so dreamy.

Clarion Reporter: Tell us something about yourself that you want the audience of at Mr. Hawthorne and the Hawthorne Community to know.

Gio Occhipinti: I have a girlfriend. Sorry.

Good luck Gio!
