On Monday May 22 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England, an explosive was set off at 10:30 pm just as an Ariana Grande concert was coming to a conclusion and people were leaving the arena.

Police called this an act of terror and the person behind the attack has been identified. 22 year old Salman Abedi was born in Britain in 1994 and he is the son Libyan parents who had fled the country after becoming opponents of Colonel Gaddafi’s regime.By the time he left Burnage Academy for Boys in 2011, Abedi had become “more and more religious”, later cutting ties with former classmates.

A community support worker, who did not wish to be named, said they contacted the authorities after he publicly said “he was supporting terrorism” and “being a suicide bomber is OK.” In the explosion, 22 people lost their lives and 50 more were taken to the hospital for injuries.

But a few days after the incident, Ariana Grande announced on Instagram that she was doing a benefit concert on June 4 in Manchester, England to raise money for the victims and families affected.

Along with Grande, some of the stars who performed were Ariana’s boyfriend Mac Miller, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Coldplay and many more. The concert was also streamed live on multiple platforms including YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook.

The show raised $9 Million dollars. Overall, the concert was a huge success and the love that was felt from the show, was overwhelming.
