Hawthorne High School students are walking through the school doors ready to help donate food and other supplies needed throughout the community and society. S.H.A.R.E stands for Students of Hawthorne Acting Responsibly and Effectively. S.H.A.R.E had its first meeting of the year with many exciting students ready to join! The club is open to incoming freshmen to returning seniors, as well as new teachers to retiring teachers. Everyone is welcomed to bring our community together one step at a time.

With many projects throughout the year, the club has decided to start with a service to help nearby communities. The first task of the year for the students and staff is to collect food for a food center named Father English. S.H.A.R.E has collected peanut butter, jelly, tuna, and canned corn. The club wants to help as many people as possible. Whether you are an active member in the club or just want to donate some food, all is welcomed. Let’s spread the word and try to collect as much food as possible!

The next task on hand is helping people on a national level, like people who were affected by Hurricane Harvey for example. We are coming together as a club and a school to donate socks for the ones affected. They need all of our help because of the tragedy they have been through for the past month. The club needs all hands on deck, so let’s come together as a community and a school and S.H.A.R.E all that we can!
