The Bear is Getting the Blues

On November 9, 2017 Hawthorne High School had their last football home game against Glen Rock.

On this day HHS won with a score of 27- 17. This year’s mascot was Chasidee Lopez. She was our fun, cheerful, and outgoing mascot. Chasidee is a senior here at HHS and she always wanted to become the school’s mascot since she was a freshmen!

She thought that being the mascot was going to be really fun and memorable for her last year of high school. Every single game we had, our mascot always made us happy and gave us laughs with her own dance moves. Before the HHS Bear/Chasidee had to say farewell to the season, The Clarion was able to catch up with her to ask a few questions.

The Clarion: What was your favorite part about being the mascot?

Chasidee: Truthfully, it was the love that everyone gives me while dressed in the bear costume.

The Clarion: What is one thing you disliked about the bear costume?

Chasidee: That’s  an easy one…it’s way too hot in there!

The Clarion: How was the last game for you?

Chasidee: Even though I missed the 1st half, I made up for it at half time. I had a lot of fun and I’m going to miss everything about it.
