Two library lunchtime workshops gave Hawthorne High School students the opportunity to travel in virtual reality. The first workshop showed a video that explained how 360-degree virtual reality adventures are created. The videos are filmed on two screens; once you put the headset on they become one, adding the 3-dimensional depth. In the second workshop students saw a video on how virtual reality is going to changes our lives in the future. Virtual reality will bring change to areas such as medicine, travel, stress therapy, interior decorating and more.

Media Specialist Mrs. Teresa DiGeronimo brought the students on an exploration of Mars and onto the International Space Station. It seemed as if the students were really there. The VR goggles will be also used for classroom curriculum activities. All the students agreed that virtual reality goggles are a really wonderful invention
