Preparing for the SAT 2018

Kyara Guillen and Melanie Bilbao

The SAT, although not mandatory, is a highly suggested test that students should take in order to have a greater chance of making it into their desired college. This test will take place in the spring and students will be tested on the basics such as writing, mathematics, and critical reading. Each question will either be easy, medium, or hard. Despite the fact of it seeming far away, there are preliminary steps you can take to better your chances of passing.

Khan Academy is an academic program that offers practices including practice exercises, instructional videos, and personalized learning dashboards. They have partnered with the College Board to create a free SAT program that offers official study materials for the SAT.

This program allows you to take a quiz in order to determine your strengths and weaknesses in each section. In the event that you score well on the reading segment, yet struggle with another section on the quiz, it will direct you to the section that you are struggling with. As students approach the SAT they will feel more confident in taking this test.
