On June 7, 2018, Hawthorne High School supported Hawthorne High School senior, Carter Mascis, who is battling cancer, with a fundraiser, Clips For Carter, that ran from 4pm to 8pm.

Clips For Carter had a great turnout and raised a lot of money, where 100% of the proceeds will be given to the Mascis family. Hair cutting services were donated, as barbers contributed their time and shaved over 200 people’s heads to match Carter.

Not only were the hair cutting services donated, but the all of the  food was donated as well, where hot dogs, hamburgers, corn and sausage and peppers were served. So many people supported the fundraiser and showed how much outpouring love and support there is in the community.
