Holiday Dance!

Karen Delgado and Yamilka Martinez

Unlike many other schools, Hawthorne High School does not have a homecoming dance. However, we do have a Homecoming Game and a Holiday Dance. This year’s Holiday Dance is on Thursday, December 13 at Macaluso’s. This dance is open to grades 9 through 12, so everyone is able to attend. Since HHS does not offer a homecoming dance, many consider the Holiday Dance as a stand in.

The Clarion was able to speak to Marjes Castillo, a senior who has gone the dance each year since her freshman year. She said,“Junior year wasn’t as fun since not a lot of people went, but this year should be fun because most of the seniors are going and probably a lot of the freshman too.” She is now a senior and expects to have a great time at her last Holiday Dance.

Since Castillo is a senior, she can participate in the wreath sale contest. This contest allows seniors to get a free ticket to the dance if they sell 15 wreaths. Let’s wait and see how many people take part in this contest and win a free ticket!

We are excited to see who attends this year, along with their stylish outfits.

We hope the dance will be a great success!
