Class of 2020 College Commitments Get Recognized on Instagram

Anthony Bertollo, Staff Writer

Due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19, all students and staff are forced to stay home and do their classwork, homework, and projects online.

In addition, events that were scheduled to take place during this unexpected absence now take place virtually, including all three of the honor society inductions and scholarship night. This also means that everyone is missing out on a large portion of their high school experience, especially the senior class, who will be leaving the bear family at the end of this year.

One of the biggest milestones towards the end of the school year is when all of the seniors show off their college attire in honor of committing to their dream college. Luckily, the student council has created an Instagram account to recognize all of the seniors who are heading off to college.

The things that need to be sent to the Instagram page are as followed:

  • A picture of yourself
  • What college you are attending
  • Your planned major (If you’re undecided, that’s fine too)

If you are a senior and you want to be acknowledged for your amazing accomplishments, send a direct message to @hawthorneseniors2020 and be proud of how hard you worked to get to this point in your life!
