It’s getting cold so it’s time to bundle up, layer our clothing, and be more aware of the brutal weather that’s coming our way. Like any other season, yearly illnesses like colds and allergies are annoying and can cause problems. With the Coronavirus still being a worldwide issue, colds could be a side effect of having Covid which could make the people around you worried.

So what is the right thing to do?

Even though you may feel uncool wearing a winter jacket, it is important to stay warm so you don’t get a cold. It is better to stay healthy than to seem uncool for 5 minutes. If you want to spare the extra hand washing and sanitizing, opt for a pair of gloves which both protect you from germs and the freezing temperatures. These precautions could keep you from getting sick and weakening your immune system.

But, the main reason for this article is to persuade you into being more mindful of your mask. The right thing to do during these times is to wear our masks more often (and properly) to keep ourselves safe, along with the people around us. Plus, they keep your face warm. Masks can keep you from sneezing all over the place, and conceal your coughs if you are just battling a regular cold.

I am one to agree that breathing in a mask sometimes can be difficult, just don’t be around a group of people if you do take it off. Don’t be the person to contaminate your best friends and cause them to have online schooling.

Corona is still a tough disease to fight. Some can get seriously hurt and end up in the hospital. Just be mindful of your peers and how they would feel getting the Coronavirus. It will be worth it in the end when you can boast about how not even the Coronavirus can slow you down!

In conclusion, I can not force you to do anything, but I hope I have changed your perspective on the mask mandates in schools. These restrictions are there for the best intentions of keeping everybody safe!
