HHS Bonfire: A Thought

David Gjinoski, Staff Writer

The bonfire is something that the students and staff of Hawthorne High School haven’t seen since the early 1990s.

This year that changed because on October 20, HHS had a bonfire at 6:30PM. The bonfire was held on the baseball field. During the bonfire there was music, outdoor games and a handful of food trucks. The amount of students and parents at the bonfire was amazing and just what the student council was looking for.

Bonfires are meant to bring people together and I think it was a perfect way to bring the Hawthorne community together.

During the bonfire it was just what you would have expected: laughter, food, and of course, the roaring fire. I hope that this will become a lasting tradition for the students at HHS because I certainly had a fun time.
