After a successful spirit week, Hawthorne High School finished the week off with an exciting homecoming game. The theme was “black-out”, and to kick off the night the HHS Student Council hosted a tailgate where students, staff, parents, and alumni were able to reserve a spot in the teachers parking lot to grill and hang out before the actual game.

The football team played an impressive game and won 40-7 against New Milford with touchdowns by Matt Lorper, Dominic Passero, Tyler Menne, Cormac Smith, and Bobby King. Meanwhile the cheerleaders and fans in the student section were eagerly cheering them on. The winner of the field goal fan raffle, Sofia Sancho, got to enjoy the game comfortably on a couch with four of her friends.

The Homecoming Ceremony took place during halftime after amazing performances by the HHS cheerleaders, band, and colorguard. The winners of this year’s homecoming court were as followed:

Lord and Lady: Joseph Brudzynski and Brooke Bechard

Duke and Duchess: Logan Harmer and Zayna Jatker

Prince and Princess: Tyler Menne and Cadence O’Hagan

King and Queen: Alex Castillo and Emma Leitman

What an exciting end to the week for HHS and thank you to everyone who showed up to support the Bears during the game!
