Christmas Tree Lighting…and a Parade!

Hawthorne’s annual Santa parade and tree lighting hosted by the Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce has been a tradition for decades, and is an exciting way for the town to kick off the holiday season.

This is the 38th year of the event and it is scheduled for Friday, December 1.

The parade will begin at 6 PM, starting at Vreeland Ave near the high school and making its way to the Municipal building. The tree lighting will take place at approximately 6:45 PM in front of the Borough Hall.

There will be music, characters, giveaways, candy, cookies, refreshments, and ornaments. Kids may visit with Santa after the tree lighting. The Santa Parade and tree lighting is a great way to get into the holiday spirit with friends, family, and neighbors, so be sure to stop by this Friday!

Kerianne O'Gara, Chief Editor
Hi, my name is Kerianne O'Gara, I'm a senior here at HHS. This is my third year writing for the Clarion and I'm excited to be back! I love to read and write and my other interests include watching horror movies, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and going to the beach. I am also the captain of the tennis team, which I have been a part of for three years. I look forward to adding plenty of articles to the Clarion this year!
