As the end of the year approaches, the Class of 2024 has a lot to look forward to. June is the most eventful month in terms of senior events here at HHS, and these are the dates seniors should be sure to mark on their calendars:
6/2: Senior Athletic Brunch
The Senior Athletic Brunch will take place on June 2 at 9:30am at the Brownstone. Senior athletes and their families are invited. Tickets for seniors are covered by the Booster Club, but any additional tickets are an extra fee.
6/3: Yearbook Distribution
Yearbook distribution for seniors will take place on June 3 after school in room 116.
6/6: Prom
Prom will take place at The Tides Estate in North Haledon from 7pm to 11pm. Seniors must be present in school at a regular time on the day of prom, and those who have sent in a sign out note are permitted to leave at 12:50pm. Bus transportation will be provided to and from the event and all attendees are required to arrive at the school by 6:30pm. Students must attend the entire event and cannot leave early.
6/7: Yearbook Signing Breakfast
The Senior Yearbook Signing Breakfast will take place the day after prom from 9:30am to 12:38pm. Seniors must arrive at the athletic field (weather permitting) by 9:30am. Breakfast will be provided and students should bring a blanket or towel to sit on as well as a pen for yearbook signing.
6/10: Senior Trip
This year’s senior trip will be Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom. Students must arrive at the school no later than 7:15am, and buses will be departing at 7:30am. Departure from the park will be around 3:30pm, and students should expect to arrive back at the school by 5-5:30pm (traffic permitting). Dues pay for the bus and entrance ticket to both parks, any other expenses (such as food) is not included.
6/11: Senior Superstars
Senior Superstars will take place on June 11. Students should arrive at the gym by 7:45am with their superstars shirt, and the event will begin at 8am. Each team will be assigned a section of the bleachers. Students are given the option to participate or be a spectator, and any seniors who do not sign up to do either must attend class as normal. Snacks are permitted in the small gym, and water coolers will be available. Students must attend the entire event but may be permitted to leave school early depending on how long the event lasts. Seniors are responsible for signing up for any events they are interested in on Google Classroom.
6/13: Senior Scholarship Night
Senior Scholarship Night will take place on June 13 at 6:30 in the auditorium. Seniors receiving scholarships will be notified before the end of May.
6/17, 6/18: Graduation Practice
Graduation practice for seniors will take place on June 17 and 18 at 8am. The graduation practice scheduled for Friday, June 14 has been cancelled, and any students taking a period 2 or period 6 exam are expected to be present for those exams. Students scheduled to take a period 3 or period 7 exam on Monday, June 17 will not be taking the exam that day, and will be contacted directly by the high school administration in order to decide on an alternative date prior to June 17.
6/18: Graduation
The class of 2024 graduation ceremony will take place on June 18 at 6:30pm on the athletic field (weather permitting). Seniors should arrive at the gym by 5:45pm.
