David Bowie, a musical legend, passed away in his sleep, January 10. Bowie had been battling liver cancer for the past 18 months.

The world is taking the time to appreciate his genius musical ability, fashion sense, and multiple personas. Bowie recently came out with a new album on January 8, called Black Star; the same day as his 69th birthday. His music fit into so many genres: Glam Rock, Art Rock, Pop, and Experimental.

In many people’s opinions, even famous artists, Bowie was an extraordinary musician, and performer of his time. Across the internet, fans and celebrities have paid tribute to his creative and beautiful life, sharing memories they have of him.

Bowie was an actor as well and took part in several successful film productions such as The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976), Labyrinth (1986), The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), and The Prestige (2006). Bowie’s popularity never waned, beginning in the 1960s, all the way until today.
