Drunk driving is the act of driving under the influence of alcohol. It’s a life risking situation. This could most likely could cause a motor vehicle crash and affect those around. The causes of drunk driving could lead to paralysis, disfigurement, brain damage or even death.

A new Tennessee state representative has taken action into his own hands and created a bill that would require drunk drivers to pay child support if responsible for the death of a minor’s parent. Tennessee hopes to set new consequences for drunk drivers as a form of saving lives.

This all started when Republican Mark Hall had heard of a disturbing event that happened down in Missouri. A grandmother had been fighting for the rights of her son and their partner after they died in a car crash leaving two children behind for her to raise on her own.

Hall then started taking steps to advocate this matter. Just like Hall’s idea, other states are looking to implement similar bills.

The child support will be calculated based on the income of the convicted drunk driver and what the child’s needs are. He states 100% will go into child support until the kid reaches the age of 18.

So what do you think of this bill ?
