Lunch At Hawthorne High School: A Thought

Ethan Dunn, Staff Writer

Hawthorne High School has some of the best lunch staff I have ever encountered. They are all kind, compassionate, and care about feeding the students of HHS the best they can. Throughout my years at HHS I have experienced some great lunches, and some lunches I would definitely not rush to try again.

The best being the spicy chicken panini on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am not sure what special thing they put into this panini, but it changed my whole view on the world we live in. My freshman year and sophomore year lunches were superb everyday of the school year. The baked potato and pastas were in my personal top five favorite foods of life.

I went around the school and asked my peers from all grades what their favorite lunch is or was throughout their high school careers. For the majority of students in the school currently, their favorite lunch is the spicy chicken panini every Tuesday and Thursday.

For senior Zak Maali, his favorite lunch was the KFC style chicken bowl. This bowl was chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and gravy on top. This is a great dish that is served on rare occasions. For the majority of students in Hawthorne High School they never got the chance to indulge in the chicken bowl. The general consensus was that the spicy chicken panini was and still is the king of the HHS lunchroom.

Being fed well, prepared food is essential to a student’s education. I personally find that I work my best on Tuesdays and Thursdays because of the spicy chicken panini.

There is nothing better than working from 8 am to 11 am and rewarding yourself with a panini in the HHS cafeteria then going back to working hard to get the best education in the best school on earth.
