Everyone loves Fall for the basic reasons: comfortable clothing, pretty leaves, fall scents, and the excitement about holidays on the way. Yes, this is all exciting stuff, but there are some important factors that are staples to having a successful Fall.
Luckily for you, the Clarion has gathered some tips and recommendations to help you thrive throughout this season!
Staying warm tips:
Some important key factors to being warm are what you are wearing, having the heat on, and eating/drinking something warm! Some clothing and clothing combos to help keep you warm are:
- Sweatshirts (maybe even a long sleeve shirt underneath)
- Puffer jackets/heavy coats (is able to go over anything)
- Warm shoes (Uggs are a personal favorite)
- Sweaters
- Sweatpants (sweatsuit – paired well with a sweatshirt)
- Good accessories (definitely help being warm) are hats, mittens, and scarfs
Having the heat is a brilliant but self-explanatory way to warm up. Not only is having the heat turned on nice and cozy, but it can warm you up in minutes!
Having a warm cup of coffee, tea, or whatever you prefer can definitely help warm you up as well! Even a hot meal doesn’t hurt!
Dealing with nature:
Sometimes when you wake up in the morning and walk out to your car there is some ice on your windshield. Annoying right? A great way to solve this problem is to defrost your windshield!
Although the leaves all over the place are beautiful, it gets to a point where there can be too much. Having a rake handy and nearby can always be useful if the leaves get to be too much.
Embrace the season:
Embracing the season is always pleasing and fun! Here are some activities to do if you want to be able to enjoy Fall or maybe help you enjoy it even more than you already do:
- Pumpkin picking
- Apple picking
- Indulge in anything pumpkin (lattes, pies, candle scents, etc)
- Getting ready for Thanksgiving or even Christmas if you are already feeling the Christmas spirit
Relax and find a hobby:
People that can find a hobby are usually able to feel a sense of positivity and upliftment. If you enjoy doing something and it makes you happy, why not make it your hobby? Hobbies can make you feel happier and relaxed.

Being a member of Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and other streaming subscriptions can help keep you busy by getting you hooked on a series.
Self care:
Vitamin D due to the lack of sunlight if you can
- It helps your body absorb calcium, helps build strong bones, and helps prevent osteoporosis (a disease that thins and weakens the bones and makes them more likely to break)
Moisturizer
- Moisturizer can help dry skin due to the cold air and/or dry heat
Lip Balm
- Lip balm can help prevent lip chapping
Get outside while you can
- Getting outside can improve your overall well-being. Getting outside reduces stress, helps experience better sleep, helps cause better breathing, benefits immunity, etc.
Sleep
- Fall fatigue is real! Usually during the Fall, we tend to be more sleepy because we get less sunlight. It’s important to change and adjust your sleep habits to the changing season. In general, sleep is a critical part of your well-being.
