The many hardworking and caring teachers of Hawthorne High School open doors for good futures by helping their students achieve a successful academic life and giving us many opportunities.
By giving these opportunities for learning and improvement of our minds, our teachers here give us the knowledge needed for us to be ready for the future that we will face after our graduation for all students that go to this school.
Many of us appreciate our hardworking teachers and staff at this school. They have always worked very hard to be the best at their role in their students’ lives, helping students learn their passions for future careers and much more.
However, although our staff members always work very hard to make this school the best it can possibly be, it often is the reality that many of these teachers across the country in other schools are often underpaid. According to the National Education Association in the last two years even though the public school teacher salary rose by 3.8% it still has not been enough to pay for inflation which has resulted in a 5% decrease in earnings. According to the National Education Association 40% of teachers have to often work extra jobs because of insufficient pay.
Many do not have the money to deal with living expenses, rent or groceries and many other basic necessities of a house. People working in education have all too often been quitting education and looking for new career opportunities.
This is a very serious problem that direly needs to be addressed by those who we vote into power and those in our communities as well. This can lead to many more talented hardworking teachers being part of our education system here in Hawthorne which will also have a better impact on those we teach.
This would eventually lead to higher standards for practices and code of conduct in education as a result which would not only lead to more appreciation for teachers and staff but would also mean betterment of students in general.
This is why we all need to appreciative of all our hard working educators across the country. We all live and learn from them.
