October is National Depression Awareness Month, the first week being mental illness awareness week and world mental health day on October 10.
It is seen as a time to educate the public and encourage people to seek help if they are struggling. Depression is a serious topic that more people should know about and how to care for those who are struggling with this mental disorder.

Anyone can get depressed and it can happen at any age and to any type of person Many people who have depression have anxiety as well since the disorders go hand in hand with one another. People who have anxiety disorders often struggle with intense and uncontrollable feelings of anxiety, fear, worry and panic and these feelings can interfere with daily activities and may linger for a long time.
Some symptoms of depression that could be noticeable such as include feeling sad and anxious. Not wanting to engage in activities that used to be fun, being easily irritable, frustrated or restless, trouble falling asleep and staying asleep, getting too much sleep or getting too little sleep.
You may have a bigger appetite or having none at all. Maybe you’ll get frequent headaches or have stomach problems that don’t go away with treatment. You might have trouble concentrating…or making decisions.
