Nowadays, many young people lead a somewhat peculiar lifestyle.
Many of them rarely feel the warmth of their homes and families, since—between long school hours, participation in sports, and work—they rarely have time to rest and clear their minds.
Unfortunately, over time, this leads to an inexplicable level of stress and fatigue. In severe cases, it can cause teenagers to feel burnt out and unable to function in their daily activities.
Some students here at Hawthorne High School recall how they felt so tired from both school and work that they had to quit their jobs to feel relieved again.
Some Juniors and Seniors also restated the following. “I feel like I don’t have time for anything anymore. I rush home just to eat and head off to work after school. I’ve been feeling tired, I don’t think I can keep up with this routine any longer.”
Most teenagers are eager to do good things with their lives, but these constant routines—which allow them neither a respite nor a moment to breathe—cause them to lose all motivation.
As young people, we, too, should begin to learn that everything happens in due time. Even though we are young and eager to show the world what we are capable of, we should also demonstrate to the world that we should also slow down a little and take each day in stride.
