Cecilia Schiavo is leaving HHS with many memories, but she is ready to make some new memories in the years ahead. In the fall of 2012, she will be attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick. She will be a double major in journalism and political science. Schiavo said, “I’m excited to move to a new place, meet new people, and be independent. But I also still want to hang out with the friends I’ve had since kindergarten and see my family all the time.”
At HHS, Schiavo has been a member of the chamber chorus, Italian club, National Honor Society, Italian Honor Society, the Creative Writing Club, and she participated in volleyball all four years. She has accomplished a lot at HHS as she received three varsity letters in volleyball, two first team all-league recognitions, and received two honorable mention All County placements. Being a member of NHS and IHS is also a great academic achievement.
Schiavo will miss her friends at HHS and the memories she made in the music department.“The music department here is great,” said Schiavo. She also leaves with some words of wisdom for students: “Don’t walk slowly in the hallway and don’t be rude to teachers.”
