Senior Spotlight: Michael Jacobsen

“Senior Spotlight” will be an ongoing series throughout the school year, highlighting graduating seniors and their thoughts about their time here at Hawthorne High School and as it comes to a close. Next up is senior Michael Jacobsen.
Clarion: When did it first sink in that this is your last year here at Hawthorne High School?
Michael: It was the summer of my junior…that’s when I realized how fast everything was moving.
Clarion: Who are your favorite teachers?
Michael: I have quite a few that I consider favorites…there’s Mr. Van Winkle, Mr. Kabrel, Ms.Schlossberg, Mr. Masiak, and Ms. Clark
Clarion: How has HHS changed since your freshman year?
Michael: I think the rules have gotten a lot stricter…and now we have two lunches!
Clarion: What’s your favorite memory from Hawthorne High School?
Michael: Getting inducted to the Nation Honor Society and Italian Honor Society. I was very proud of myself.
Clarion: What are your plans for the future?
Michael: I would like to pursue a career in computer engineering.
Clarion: If you could talk to your freshman self what would you tell him?
Michael: I would tell myself not to get into politics, focus on grades and be more active with the school.
Clarion: What is something you want to do before you graduate?
Michael: I would like to meet Donald Trump.
