As senior year rolls in, it is time to think about college.
You must apply as soon as possible and create a resume that would entice a school to send a letter of acceptance or provide scholarship money. Applying to colleges and waiting to hear back is the most stressful part of the year. Once all the results are back, senior year becomes a breeze.
Students start to get lazy and unmotivated: what is the point if they already got into college? Many begin to think that their grades and personal records do not matter anymore. However, this is far from the truth.
Many colleges are becoming more aware of what is known as “senioritis” and will ask for a report of senior year grades to decide whether they will revoke or keep their acceptance letter. This means students need to change their mindset because even senior year they have a lot to lose.
The only reason senior year is easier is because schools want to provide students with a break before they go into college which is very challenging. If students get too comfortable senior year than going into their first year of college will be very difficult.
This is why effort still needs to be put in senior year of high school. Students need to treat senior year like it is the first year of college.
