Hawthorne High School Alumni, Aidan Clancy returned to HHS to deliver a powerfully informative presentation regarding great American History.
Clancy took to Mr. Kabrel’s US II History Honors class, on October 31, to briefly educate students on the important role America played in World War II. Clancy brought history stories to life by wearing a World War II, Khaki cotton uniform and military boots to paint an accurate depiction of what American soldiers wore during World War II.
Alongside his interactive presentation, Clancy brought real life props such as goggles, boots, food cans, and other important tools that were vital for soldiers survival.
With great enthusiasm, passion, and wisdom, HHS Alumni Clancy captivated Hawthorne’s US II History class with extreme wonder and curiosity on soldiers’ experiences within the war. Covering topics from the draft process, to the rigorous challenges the soldiers had to endure both on and off the battlefield to maintain survival, Clancy took the students to a deeper understanding of American history beyond the textbooks.
Hawthorne High School Alumni, Aiden Clancy graduated in 2024. Clancy is currently in his sophomore year of college at Ramapo College of New Jersey, where he is majoring in History.
After graduation, Aidan wants to become a history teacher, where he will bring his infinite wisdom into classrooms to educate younger generations on the patriotic battles, figures, and stories that have pieced together The United States of America, that we know today.
