The thought of graduating may be scary but a lot to look forward to. There are great events like homecoming, prom, senior sunrise/sunset, leaving lunch to go out and eat, graduation, and so much more activities you can be involved in as a senior. As a senior these are going to be your “lasts” which means you make more meaningful memories with friends and getting to see a new chapter in your life.
The Clarion wanted to ask Uriel Acosta some questions. Uriel is a senior who plays for the HHS varsity basketball team.
To start off, the first question is, “What are you looking forward to after graduating?”
He responded with “I’m looking forward to building my career path and going towards my future goals.”
Next they wanted to know, “What are 3 words that can describe your high school experience?”
He said, “Hilarious, growth and adventurous.”
Another question they had was “What was a mistake that turned into a valuable lesson?”
He replied with, “I used to rely only on my athleticism in games and didn’t take practice seriously. When I played against better competition, I struggled because effort alone wasn’t enough. That taught me that attention to detail matters just as much as talent. After that I learned that real improvement happens before the game even starts so I always try my hardest in everything, even in little things.”
To add on they wanted to know, “What are you excited about in the next phase of your life?”
He answered with “I’m excited to take on new challenges and figuring out what I want to do for the rest of my life.”
Lastly, “What is one piece of advice you wish someone had given you as a freshman?”
He replied with, “Take high school stereotypes lightly. High school is what you make it and don’t let people dictate what you want to do, just be you and enjoy yourself.”
The Clarion wants to thank Uriel Acosta for sharing these amazing responses.
