Hawthorne High School’s boys and girls indoor track teams competed in the NJSIAA State Sectional Track Meet in Toms River. There were some very good performances turned in by the Bears.
For the girls, Jenna Dyksen won the state sectional title in the 55 high hurdles. Kaitlin Salisbury also took gold in the 55 meter dash. Sherika Dyer took fourth place in the shot put, Taylor Conroy earned a fifth place medal in the 1600 meter race, and the girls 4 x 400 meter relay team also took fourth place. The meter relay team consisted of Paige Stroh, Taylor Conroy, Kaitlin Salsibury, and Jenna Dyksen.
For the boys, Ali Aware took a third place in the 55 meter. Liam Morrissey competed in the 1600 meter and Chase Knepper competed in the 400 meter race.
