HHS Boy's Basketball: Home Opener

On Friday, December 16 the Hawthorne High School boy’s basketball team headed to the hardwood for its first game of the season against Rutherford.

The boys started off slow and headed into halftime down by twelve points. In the second half however, magic occurred. In the third quarter the HHS boys brought the score to within 6 points, and in the fourth quarter Dallas Hoffman and TJ Palmer went off for the bears.

Hoffman finished with a game high 25 points (17 of them being in that fourth quarter comeback). Palmer finished with 14 points with half of those in that fourth quarter. Ramon Mariano, Danny Rodriguez, and Kendale Butler also contributed with a couple of buckets each throughout the game.

This was the first time in a long time that the Bears have beaten Rutherford on our home floor, being that Rutherford has been a contender for the league title for the past couple years.

This win was one that felt great for our boys, and was a morale booster after the first game of the season.
