Baker Mayfield’s story is one that will be forever interesting.

He wasn’t the biggest, or best quarterback option from college.  He had to work harder and make a bigger name for himself in order to succeed.  Baker was chosen in the first round as the first pick for the Cleveland Browns.  Obviously Tyrod Taylor hasn’t been good enough of a leader for the Browns, as they’ve been in a cycle of losses.  Baker has done so much for the team so far, especially with a receiver like Jarvis Landry at his use.  He had shown enough of what he could do during the preseason, to have him make his rookie debut alongside Taylor, where he threw two touchdowns against the Giants.

Baker may be the Browns new star rookie QB, but that doesn’t mean that no teams in the rest of the league are better than them.  There still are hard threats that can take the Browns spot in the playoffs.  They tied against the Steelers in overtime, which was a very difficult and long game for both teams.

They finally took the lead against the Saints (21 – 18) but lost, then finally beat the New York Jets the following week (21-17).  Once again, a difficult opponent, the Raiders, beat them in overtime (45 – 42).  Their next foe will be the Ravens on the 7 of October.

Everyone will just have to wait and see what they have in store.  Currently, Mayfield has been named the starter for the Browns which changes the game completely.  The Browns have needed a morale booster as well as motivation, which Baker seems to have given them.  They are making moves and have the confidence of a strong team once again.
