Super Bowl LIII

Super Bowl LIII has come to an end with the New England Patriots being the winners. The biggest game of the year was held in Atlanta, Georgia at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. This was the lowest scoring Super Bowl in the history of the NFL. The Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13-3. There was only one touchdown scored between both of the teams. The defenses really got to shine in this very important game. The Super Bowl MVP was awarded to wide receiver Julian Edelman of the victorious New England Patriots. The Patriots were able to tie the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most Super Bowl wins with six. Tom Brady has won the most the Super Bowls in history as a player with six rings. Brady also holds the record for most Super Bowl MVPs with four.
The first half started with New England getting the ball first. Cordarrelle Patterson returned the opening kickoff all the way down to the 40 yard line. A few plays later, Sony Michel made a great run to get to the Rams side of the field. Then Tom Brady made his first attempt on throwing the ball to Chris Hogan. The ball was thrown about 6 yards which was popped up by Nickell Robey-Coleman and intercepted by Cory Littleton. After many punts, the Patriots finally got into the Rams side of the field to kick a goal. Stephen Gostkowski stepped onto the field to kick a 46 yard field goal to give his team the lead and he missed. Now in the second quarter, the Patriots went back up-field. Stephen Gostkowski took his second attempt of making a 42 yard field goal and made it. The first half ended 3-0 with the Patriots winning.
The second half began after an outstanding performance by Travis Scott and Maroon 5. The Rams received the ball first, but were quickly shut down by the Patriots dominating defense. Punt after punt the Rams finally got 3 points. Greg Zuerlein kicks a 53 yard field goal to tie the game at 3 late in the 3rd quarter. Midway through the 4th quarter, the Patriots went up field and into the red zone. Sony Michel runs 2 yards to get the score for the Patriots. The score is now 10-3. The Patriots ended up stopping the Rams for the rest of the game. Stephen Gostkowski kicked a 41 yard field goal to close the game out for the Patriots. The final score ends up to be 13-3 with Tom Brady and the Patriots to winning their 6th Super Bowl.
Tom Brady passed for 262 yards and threw one interception. Julian Edelman had 10 receptions for 141 yards. Sony Michel finished the game with 94 yards and the game winning touchdown.
