Hawthorne Softball Season Preview

Logan Rivera and Michael Galland

With the start of the new softball season, Hawthorne High School looks to have another winning season this year and make it back to states after going 14-7 in 2018.

The HHS Varsity softball team has a lot of returning players, along with some new faces, bringing new skills and some uncertainty to the team. The girls first scrimmage was a loss to PCTI 4-1, not the best start but the team is still working out the kinks and the new faces.

In their next scrimmage against Lakeland the Bears lost 5-1. A player on the team said they, “could not hit the ball and they didn’t look good out there as a team.”

Although the girls aren’t off to the best start, they will look to turn it around as they head into the regular season and get more comfortable playing as a team.

Go Bears!!!
