Virginia!

Logan Rivera and Michael Schneider

After a disappointing loss last season against the 16-seed for the first time in tournament history, Virginia came back stronger and beat Texas Tech to win the National Championship by a score of 85-77.

Virginia made school history by winning the first school title since the team was founded in 1905. Junior Kyle Guy helped tremendously with the win by scoring 24 points and sophomore De’Andre Hunter scored 27 and hit the game tying three pointer which sent the game to over time.

With clutch baskets and great defense Virginia took the lead and never looked back.

In the end Texas Tech tried to make a run and get back in the game, but it was too late. Virginia had taken home the title. The Virginia Cavaliers add another banner to their decorated season also winning the ACC regular season title and solidifying their place in college basketball history.
