Lionel Messi is the 2019 Ballon D’or winner.

Its his 6th Ballon D’or and he has the most in history. He is arguably one of the greatest players of all time. He is known for his talent and his unbelievable skills. He was born in Rosario, Argentina on June 24, 1987 and was diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency as a child. 

He started his career at the age of 7 playing with his boyhood club Newell’s Old Boys until the age of 13 where he went to Barcelona. Barcelona paid for his all of his medical treatments. He made his debut on November 16, 2003 and played 15 minutes in a pre-season friendly against Jose Mourinho’s Porto. Messi also made his international debut for Argentina on August 17, 2005. He has played with amazing players such as Iniesta, Puyol, Xavi, and Ronaldinho. 

As the years went by, he became the captain of both Barcelona and Argentina and wears the number 10 jersey. He has won 34 trophies with Barcelona but only won a gold medal with Argentina at the Olympics.

Messi has scored over 575 goals and has as many as 333 assists in his entire career.
