The Hawthorne Bears defeated Glen Rock on Friday, January 3 at Glen Rock. The Bears won 45-41 and hold a 2-2 record on the season.

The Bears got off to a great start, beating Glen Rock 15-3 in the first quarter. The Bears showed very strong defense throughout the game. They were also able to perform very well on offense. The Bears were winning 23-14 at halftime, but the game would get more competitive in the second half.

Hawthorne was able to outscore Glen Rock again in the third quarter, 14-6. The Bears were playing almost perfectly to this point.

The game started getting very interesting in the fourth quarter. Glen Rock went on a roll, outscoring the Bears 21-8. In the end, Hawthorne was able to maintain their lead and finish the game.

Senior Shane Rooney led the team in scoring with 17 points. Junior Miguel Melendez contributed with 12 points of his own. Sophomore Michael Palmer scored 9 points and Chris Sanchez played great defense for the Bears.
