In light of the basketball season coming up in about a month for Hawthorne High School, the Clarion decided to interview our new varsity coach, Mr. McMann.
He was the JV coach under Mr. Ward for a few years, but after Mr. Ward retired, McMann was appointed as the new head coach. He is also a math teacher at HHS, who teaches juniors and seniors.
During the interview, 3 questions were asked of him:
The Clarion: How do you see the basketball team doing this season?
McMann: I believe the team is going to be very successful this year due to all of the talent we have here at Hawthorne High School.
The Clarion: How do you feel about it being your first year as the head varsity basketball coach?
McMann: I am excited to start a new chapter as being the head coach for varsity basketball. I am determined to coach a successful team.
The Clarion: Are you confident in the success of the team?
McMann: I am confident that the team will play good together and be successful throughout the season.
As you can see, under Coach McMann, the varsity basketball team will be sure to have great success this season!
