Soccer Comes to a Close

The HHS Girls Soccer Team had a very good season. The girls ended their season 15-4. They made it to the semi-final round in the NJSIAA Tournament. In their last game they played Lenape Valley. Although they fought hard, they didn’t go home with a win, and this ended their season.

The girls had many big wins this season. They took a W against Glen Rock towards the end of the season winning 1-0. Isabella Hewitt scored the only goal of the game in the last 30 seconds with a header! The girls also made it to the semi finals for the Passaic County Tournament. They fought hard to get there with a previous win against Wayne Hills. They tried their best and didn’t give up. Although they didn’t come out with a W, they put their all into it.

Another big W they got was against Wayne Hills in the quarterfinal round. It was a very good game 0-0 for more than a half. Then towards the end of the game Sydney Hansen had a beautiful goal to the back of the net. This shot won the game for our Lady Bears with the score of 1-0. It was a battle, but the girls didn’t give up which is why they took home the win.

The girls had a few hard losses as well, against Glen Rock, Wayne Valley, Butler, and Lenape Valley. Although they lost a few games they had many more wins to be proud of. The girls played Manchester two times and crushed them 6-0. They also played Pompton Lakes three times and the scores of all three were 5-0, 3-0, and 3-0. The girls were able to stop Pompton from shooting every game which resulted in Pompton not scoring against our stellar defense. Even though the girls lost to Butler they ended up playing them again in NJSIAA tournament and beat them 3-0!

Here’s to the end of a great season!
