The NFL has been around for over a 100 years now and it´s popularity has grown tremendously with each year.
There are so many great things about the NFl, but there are always lingering problems every NFL franchise has. A big one that shows up a ton in today’s game is injuries: not just little scratches or bruises, but very significant season ending injuries. In recent years many media specialists and fans have shown a growing interest about the fields that NFL teams play on.
Most teams play on a field called turf which is a man made material that can be installed anywhere a person may want. Many teams and specialists think that this is the biggest reason for all of the major injuries such as ACL and Achilles Tears. In the NFL this year there have been so many big injuries to so many stars. One very important injury was Aaron Rodgers the QB of the New York Jets tearing his Achilles.
Another very important QB Kirk Cousins who plays for the Minnesota Viking also tore his ACL.
The injuries do not only occur to offensive players, but to defensive players as well. The Cowboys star Trevon Diggs had a season ending ACL Rupture near the start of the season, sidelining him for the rest of the year.
Another defensive star who tore his Achilles is Tre’davious White who plays cornerback for the Buffalo Bills and he tore it in week 4. Also, Nick Chubb who was set to have a great year, had a gruesome knee injury week 2 of the NFL season.
The injuries are not all the same: there are still some injuries that sideline players for multiple weeks if not months. Some players who have suffered injuries like these are Saquon Barkley, a young talented running back who hurt his ankle which forced him to miss multiple games.
Marlon Humphrey, a cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens went down with an ankle injury, which will have him sidelined for multiple weeks.
Everybody who plays or watches the sports are all wondering and hoping that the NFL will try and make a change to help limit or erase the ongoing issues of long and short term injuries.
