The Olympics are one of those events that we always look forward to. From gymnastics to ice hockey and flag football, there’s always a piece of every sport we know. But aside from that, what truly matters are the athletes. Each of these athletes go through a process of both mental and physical work, to start getting themselves ready and give their best to represent their countries and other team members.
Most of these athletes, if not all of them, always include warm ups and cool downs in their routines. This is essential for the body since it’s getting the body ready for the action that is to come later on. These warm ups tend to be active movements that increase the heart rate, blood flow to muscle, and body temperature which helps athletes avoid any kind of injury that could harm their bodies in the long run.
A lot of the athletes tend to spend most of their time practicing and bettering themselves. There’s no doubt that practice and hard work is what makes perfection come to life. But in this case, rest is very important. Resting allows athletes to recover their muscles and clear their memories. It also works as a way to not get fatigued, since overtraining tends to lead to this.
Most importantly I believe that none of this is possible without the proper nutrition. No matter how much you work out or how much an individual sleeps and recovers, without the proper nutrition we are not allowing our bodies to grow and nourish properly. A diet rich in essentials supports muscle repairs and energy replenishment. It allows the body to clear up and the brain to become more efficient allowing thoughts to be more prominent and healthier.
Being able to perform in the Olympics would be a dream to anyone. Knowing how these athletes prepare themselves and take their bodies to the next levels motivates new generations to better themselves and encourages them to do things that they thought they were limited and had no opportunity in.
