HHS 2016 Tennis Senior Captain
October 7, 2016
In years past there have been an abundance of senior captains on the tennis team, but there is only one for the 2016 season. Jacqueline Campos, is the leading captain this year. She has been on the tennis team ever since her freshman year here at Hawthorne High School. Although it is a big responsibility to be the only captain, Jacqueline enjoys it very much. A Clarion writer got a chance to interview her and ask her what it’s really like being the only senior captain.
Clarion Writer: How is it being the only senior captain this year?
Campos: I like being a leader. I feel as though I can assist my other teammates through my experience.
Clarion Writer: What goals are you trying to reach by the end of the season?
Campos: I want to finish the season off being the best player I can be. I want the team as a whole to be the best we can be.
Clarion Writer: What tips and strategies do you give your teammates?
Campos: The number one tip I have for my teammates is to have fun and to be positive.
Clarion Writer: Since you have been playing for four years now, how do you feel that this is your last season of tennis at HHS?
Campos: I feel sad that it’s my last year. I have created many friendships through tennis and have had a lot of fun over the past four years. Overall, tennis was a blast.
The Clarion wishes the tennis team a great season!
