Hawthorne High School’s Mr. Hawthorne talent show is on March 2 at 7:30 PM in the HHS auditorium. The Clarion sat down with each of the contestants to get a chance to see what they think of the show and their chances to take the Mr. Hawthorne crown. They have been working day and night practicing their killer routines and are prepared to dazzle the crowds with their charm. Alex Di Filippo, a first time contestant of Mr. Hawthorne, sat down with The Clarion and discussed his chances on snagging the crown this year.

Clarion Reporter: What are some of the things that you are a part of at HHS?

Alex Di Filippo: I’m part of the Drama Club, Chorus, Broadcasting Club and the fall and spring theater productions.

Clarion Reporter: Why did you decide to do Mr. Hawthorne?

Alex Di Filippo: I decided to do Mr. Hawthorne to show people how freakin awesome I can be. Ya know, when I try.

Clarion Reporter: Do you think you will win?

Alex Di Filippo: I don’t think I’ll win the whole thing, but maybe the final 5.

Clarion Reporter: What do you think of your competition? Who do you think is your biggest competitor?

Alex Di Filippo:  My biggest competitor is definitely Patrick Moorehouse. That kid can dance and he’s a Mr. Hawthorne veteran. Everyone else is also going to be a challenge to beat. They’re all so cool!

Clarion Reporter: Tell us something about yourself that you want the audience at Mr. Hawthorne and the Hawthorne community to know.

Alex Di Filippo: I want everyone to know that I will not be getting a haircut any time soon. Nice try everyone, but I love headbands.

Good luck Alex!
