Hawthorne High School’s Mr. Hawthorne talent show is on March 2 at 7:30 PM in the HHS auditorium. The Clarion sat down with each of the contestants to get a chance to see what they think of the show and their chances to take the Mr. Hawthorne crown. They have been working day and night practicing their killer routines and are prepared to dazzle the crowds with their charm. Alex Zawojski  answered questions The Clarion had about the heated competition this year.

Clarion Reporter: What are some things that you are a part of at HHS?

Alex Zawojski: Some things that I am a part of at HHS are a various amount of clubs such as the Italian Club, Peer Leaders, Student Council, Class Cabinet, and Culture Club.  I have also participated  in some sports such as soccer, track, and lacrosse.

Clarion Reporter: Why did you decide to do Mr. Hawthorne?

Alex Zawojski: I decided to do Mr. Hawthorne because I am a huge fan of the show and ever since I saw my brother do it, I’ve dreamed of being in the show.

Clarion Reporter: Do you think you will win?

Alex Zawojski: Do I think I will win? Who knows to be honest. It’s an unpredictable world we live in and with my dancing experience and my elaborate talent I may just win. However, if I don’t, then no hard feelings…I always have next year.

Clarion Reporter: What do you think of your competition? Who do you think is your biggest competitor?

Alex Zawojski: I have high competition to be honest. All of my competitors are very talented and quite comical. So, actually, everyone is my competition.

Clarion Reporter: Tell us something about yourself that you want the audience at Mr. Hawthorne and the Hawthorne Community to know.

Alex Zawojski: Well, I am Ukrainian and very proud to be so. Every Friday night I dance and learn the history and culture of Ukraine. Also, I’ve experienced many dramatic and painful concussions. My longest concussion lasted exactly 361 days. I also partake in spreading awareness about global warming and I am very active. I enjoy cleaning parks and the homes of different species.

Good luck Alex!
