Three Must Have Recipes for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is two days away. which means it is time to start cooking! Here are some great recipes to make your Thanksgiving dinner the best one yet.
Pumpkin Pie
Ingredients
- ¾ cup of sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 1 can (15 oz) of pumpkin
- 1 ¼ cups of evaporated milk or half and half
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 Pillsbury™ Pet-Ritz® frozen deep-dish pie crust
Steps
- Heat your oven to 425°F. In a large bowl, mix the filling ingredients. Pour into the pie crust.
- Bake for 15 minutes. Then, reduce the oven temperature to 350°F; bake 40 to 50 minutes longer or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 2 hours. Serve or refrigerate until serving time. Store in refrigerator.
Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients
- 2 pounds of baking potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 cup of milk
- salt and pepper to taste
Steps
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender but still firm, about 15 minutes; drain.
- In a small saucepan heat butter and milk over low heat until butter is melted. Using a potato masher or electric beater, slowly blend milk mixture into potatoes until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cornbread
Ingredients
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of yellow cornmeal
- 2/3 cup of white sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 3 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
Steps
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray or lightly grease a 9 inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt and baking powder. Stir in egg, milk and vegetable oil until well combined. Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
