May 22, marked the official grand opening of Universal Orlando’s new theme park, Epic Universe. Epic Universe transports guests into 4 immersive worlds. Whether guests want to go on a magic quest through Harry Potter World, or would rather travel inside a video game to Super Nintendo World. Guests can have the chance to train their own dragon, in the Isle of Berk, along with meet and greet with monsters in the Dark World. Universal guests have endless possibilities in this new Epic Universe.
Epic Universe has blown fans away by how precise they have made their new park towards the Nintendo Franchise. From the decor, to the food, to the new rides, Universal has outdone themselves with such astonishing work. To enter Super Nintendo World, guests are taken through a “portal” to help digitize themselves into the world of Super Mario. When entering, the park is accurately decorated, completely giving fans the sense of living inside the video game. Inside the park, guests will be able to battle Team Bowser, in a real life game of Mario Kart.
The fun continues on, as fans get to try out Universal’s new Donkey Kong themed roller coaster, Mine-cart Madness. This thrilling coaster allows families to help Donkey Kong protect his precious golden banana. This ride will take fans on a wild adventure, racing through the mines, and jumping tracks to complete their mission. After a long day of living in the video game world, guests will be able to re-fuel at Toadstool’s Cafe. This dine in restaurant is a Toad themed cafe that provides both the cutest and most delicious Mario themed food. Their menu consists of decorated meals such as Mario Burger’s, Luigui Burger’s, Yoshi fettuccine alfredo, Toadstroodle cheesy garlic knots, Bowser’s Fire-ball Challenge, and tons more Mario & friends inspired food.
While Super Nintendo World has won over the hearts of video game fans, Epic Universe has dedicated a second portion of their park to the beloved, How to Train Your Dragon franchise. In this park, fans are transported into The Isle of Berk, where they are greeted by the vikings and dragons. How to Train Your Dragon fans get to experience killer new rides, such as Hiccup’s Wing Glider, Fyre Drill, and Dragon’s Race-Rally. Starting off with Hiccup’s Wing Glider, fans get to experience what it is like to join Toothless the Dragon on a crazy flying adventure. This family themed coaster will launch families into the sky, followed by crazy twists and turns.
If fans aren’t into crazy roller coasters, a much more suitable ride would be Fyre Drill. This ride is an interactive boat ride that takes guests throughout the Isle of Berk. On this journey, guests compete with one another by shooting water cannons at the targets attached to other boats. Lastly, Universal has created a third ride for this park called Dragon’s Race-Rally. On this ride guests can practice their dragon riding skills. This ride focuses on high speed aerobics and gravity defying experiences, allowing riders to understand what it takes to become a champion dragon racer. Similar to Super Nintendo World, this land has themed dining for fans to grab a quick meal, along with interactive experiences, shows, and shopping areas.
Don’t worry Harry Potter fans, Universal did not forget about you. Epic Universe has opened a Harry Potter section of their park called The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic. Potter-heads will time travel back to Wizarding Paris of 1920, where they will come face to face with Fantastic Beast at Le Cirque Arcanus. Besides exciting live shows, Epic Universe has introduced a new motion stimulation ride, “Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.” Guests will join Harry Potter and his friends on a barbaric journey into the Ministry of Magic.
Other mentionable sections of the Epic Universe are the Dark Universe, and Celestial Park. The Dark Universe has brought some of the most cinematic monsters back to life. In this gothic universe, fans will get to stand in the presence of Frankenstein himself, along with other notable monsters such as Dracula, The Mummy, The Wolfman, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
Similar to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, this park has introduced a new motion simulation ride that brings guests along on a spooky adventure. On Monster’s Unchained guest will witness Victoria Frankenstein’s experiment go poorly wrong, ending in a monster lead revolt. Last but not least, Celestial park acts as the central ground in the Epic Universe. Celestial park is the gateway that connects these 4 immersive worlds into one huge park. Universal Studios has outdone themselves once again with this Epic Universe.
Fans are set to have bundles of fun in this enticing adventure between becoming Wizards, transforming into monsters, digitizing into video game heroes, or even suiting up to become a certified dragon trainer. The possibilities are endless in Universal’s Epic Universe.
